Dark Panther Coating
Multilayer coating with a thickness of 2,5 µm. Born from the last experiences of our Research and Development Team which, in cooperation with the Metals Dept. of a University Institute, has developed a special configuration of the coating target and consequently of the resulting plasma. It combines the wearing protection of very hard layers with the capabilities of a solid lubrication layer. Thanks to this lubrication effect the surface can easily take the chips flow and micro-weldings phenomenon granting a quicker chip evacuation from the cutting area. This coating has an obsidatione temperature of 880°C, with a friction coefficient of 0,55 and a surface hardness of 3.500 Vickers (HV 0,05). It proved very promising in very hard cutting conditions, with extremely hard materials and very abrasive and with absent or reduced lubrication. Suited for cutting steels with a cohesive strength over 1.000 N/mm² and for stainless steels, aluminium, inconel, etc.
